The Selection Panel
A panel consisting of industry professionals and experts helped us shortlist the nominations for 13 categories. From more than 100 nominations which were mailed in to us, the list was whittled down to less than half. Short snapshots of the panel members are given below.

Rekha Nigam
Senior vice president - Programming and Production
Sony Entertainment Television
From writing Hindi copy in advertising, to heading programming at Sony Entertainment, Rekha Nigam has indeed come a long way. In between, she has also taken a stab at heading a production house - Karnik Communications - promoted by investment banker and management consultant Ashok Wadhwa, his wife Reena Wadhwa, and his brother.


Ashok Mansukhani
Chief Operating Officer

Indusind Entertainment Ltd
His roots lie in government. Ashok Mansukhani has had a stint with state-owned broadcaster DD, and has been exposed to several other government departments. He hopped onto the Hinduja-run Indusind Media a couple of years ago, and headed its cable TV division before being made COO of Indusind Entertainment Ltd.

Biren Ghose

UTV Interactive
Biren Ghose is the Chief Executive Officer of UTV Interactive, the UTV group's Internet company after 24 years of experience across FMCG, biotechnology, engineering, and IT services industries. Biren was the Managing Director of the Gateway Group in the UAE, before joining UTV. At UTVi, he is building a pioneering digital media solutions and Web casting company. UTVi also has a flagship broadband streaming portal sharkstream.com. On the personal side, Biren is passionate about music and the Internet.

Mohan Nair
Chief Operating Officer

As corporate editor of The Economic Times Mohan Nair, interacted with the leading lights of the Indian business. The Ambanis, the Tatas, the Birlas, Goenkas, Fortune 500 CEOs, were just a phone call away. Today, as Chief Operating Officer of Asianet, Nair is working hard to ensure that the Malayalam satellite television channels continues to retain its leadership position, even as a clutch of rivals crop up.

Samir Kale
Communications Management Consulting Group
The 30-something Samir Kale can probably claim to be the savviest cable and satellite television communications professional. His company currently handles PR and media relations for Turner Broadcasting's Cartoon Network, CNN and HBO, ESPN-Star Sports and interactive TV technology hotshot TeleCruz. In the past he has managed Channel V. Other accounts CMCG has: DHL, Pepsi, Lazard Credit Capital.
