Television industry, rejoice! The Indian Telly Awards is back again to celebrate the best in the business after a swinging success in 2001 and '02. Telly awards was envisioned by Anil Wanvari of Indian Television Dot Com Pvt Ltd two years ago in an effort to acknowledge the inconspicuous yet talented professionals in the trade. Back then, the Indian TV industry had no dedicated awards functions to recognise its talents.

Most existing television awards were merely a sub-component of a film awards function. And they were hardly comprehensive. The Indian Telly Awards was thus a breakthrough, established with the help of four Hindi entertainment television channels and producers. And it was an immense success, as anticipated.

The industry's response was so encouraging that we at Indian Television Dot Com Pvt Ltd, expanded the number of categories from 18 in 2001 to 47 in 2002. This year we have 61 categories in all, plus an individual lifetime achievement award. Our success is in our vision: celebrate and recognising excellence, celebrating the best of television today.

For easy referencing, we have split up the awards into the following groups:

Comprising 12 categories

Comprising 12 categories

Comprising three major subdivisions

a) CHANNEL: 3 categories
b) PROGRAMMING: 19 categories
c) PERSONALITY: 15 categories

The Indian Telly Awards 2003 covers the period from January 2002 to December 2002 and nominations are being called for from television channels, production houses and artistes.
