Indian Television Dot Com expands categories for The Indian Telly Awards 2003
 

MUMBAI: India’s leading television awards, The Indian Telly Awards, run by media and marketing solutions company, Indian Television Dot Com, has expanded the number of categories from the 55 in 2002 to 61 for the 2003 edition of the awards.

The new categories which were added include:

1. Executive of the Year
2. Distribution Executive of the Year
3. Programming Executive of the Year (TV Channel)
4. Programming Executive of the Year (Production House)
5. Promo of the Year
6. The Horror Progamme of the Year
7. The Daily Serial of the Year
8. The Weekly Serial of the Year
9. The Film based Show of the Year
10.Best TV Programme with a Social Message
11.The TV Documentary of the Year and TV Child Artiste of the Year

“We spoke to industry and they gave us valuable feedback which we have incorporated in the categories this year,” says Indian Telly Awards founder Anil Wanvari. “The Indian Telly Awards which are the most coveted by television professionals and stars are gradually evolving and we will continue to soak in industry’s suggestions to further strengthen the bond that it has with the awards.”

The Indian Telly Awards are the first ever awards – after the Onida Pinnacle Awards in the early nineties – to be instituted for the television industry. The first Indian Telly Awards were held in Mumbai’s Oberoi Hotel on 6 July 2001. The awards were instituted with the support of the leading entertainment channels, Star, Sony, Zee and Channel Nine, by Anil Wanvari, a veteran media professional.
