Indian Telly Awards finetunes categories
(15 July 2005)
There is a change in the Indian Telly Awards
are being handled in their fifth year. We
have responded to the changing scenario,
chopped out some categories, introduced
some new ones like the Best Reality TV show.
After several years of running chart topping
soaps and series, the TV industry is searching
for new programming genres to serve a TV
hungry audience. The total number of categories
are 89. We have also drawn up two last dates
for submissions, an earlier (6 August 2005)
one for the technical, trade, programming
& channel awards, and another later
date (15 September 2005) for the awards
in the Popular category.
This was done following
feedback from industry as they wanted the
cutoff for the popular categories to be
as close to the date of telecast as possible.
Additionally, for the first time, we are
levying a processing fee of Rs 200 only
per entry to cover processing expenses.
We trust industry will be as enthusiastic
in sending in entries as it has been in
the past. We look forward to a challenging
and rewarding Indian Telly Awards.
